Maybe its just me...but it seems that the more airtight and reasonable logic you use when making a statement, the less people are willing to talk about it

Yeah well its because no one can argue with it.

I guess to that end the more airtight you make your statements the higher qaulity of thinkers you attract, while there's just not many of them.

Could be that, but it could also be other things. I find that those who do try to use good logic are the types to lord it over everyone and pretend they're completely infallible and that they're so perfect.

On the contrary, I would say that those people started out just like everyone else, and with more opposition brought to them, they revised themselves. They aren't pretentious because they believe they're right. Most of them are looking for something that they hadn't seen before. Evidence that hadn't yet been presented or alternatives that are verifiable and haven't been explored.
