UnLoving NewbieWhy do you think there are Christian missionaries?
It's not like they're trying to "take over the world with their religion".
They're trying to educate people about the religion.
It's not like the person has to choose Christianity, but at least they know about it.
"Christianity is the only religion that wot just let people be in peace."
Well of course not. We want to educate people about it.
We want them to know their options.
They can make the decision for themselves. -
If someone can only deny God if they have the active knowledge of him. Then isn't telling someone about Christianity the cruelest thing you can do? Think about it, if someone remains ignorant then they can be judged on their actions. Where as if someone is told about Christianity, then they have to worship or burn in hell.
It's pretty f---ed up. -
Then there's general revelation.

Here's the beauty of science. If humanity suddenly lost everything - if we were to suddenly lose all of our literature and recorded knowledge, our memory and were forced to restart from scratch, everything we have learned about science would be relearned. We would eventually relearn about the solar system and cells. We would understand how chemicals work again and be able to study the fossils of long dead animals.
Science does not depend on people to be right. It's there whether you want to acknowledge it or not. But sadly your story of a talking snake in a garden would be lost forever. -
Here's the beauty of humanity restarting.
It doesn't. -
Nice job avoiding the point there buddy.

What you're suggesting in your first post is that we shouldn't learn stuff because then we'd be forced to take a side. (Well, for one no one is forced. They don't even have to tell people they know about it) But okay in that case lets not learn about politics, that way we won't be forced to pick republican or democrat. Let's not learn about anything hat has two sides to it - because then we'd have to take a side!! Let's shield ourselves from knowledge to avoid that! We better be ignorant about everything so we're not judged! -
UnLoving NewbieIf humanity restarted, ALL knowledge of history would be lost. None of us would know how the f--- it got to this point in time.
-
I don't see politics or anything else having the options life of servitude or eternal damnation.
If the act of telling someone about something removes the only positive outcome, then why would you do so?
Telling someone about politics does not mean that if they choose a political side they'll be forced to adhere to it's guidelines or that if they choose not to worry about politics that they'll spend eternity being tortured.
Telling someone about politics simply means that "hey, this is out there. Just letting you know"
-There is no negative effect for worrying about it
-There is no negative effect for not worrying about it
THAT is the difference between religion and anything else. -
Unloving, we would learn. We would do the same thing we did before and we would learn. We would experiment and rebuild. We would find ways to write things down and create language. We would eventually start to understand disease and astronomy. Eventually maybe even space flight and advanced chemistry. THE SCIENCE EXISTS WITH OR WITHOUT YOUR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF IT. You don't have to have faith for chemistry or biology or astronomy to work.
-
UnLoving NewbieTelling someone about religions is also saying "Hey, this is out there. Just letting you know". You do not HAVE to pick a side.
Please explain what you mean by "negative affect". -
If I remember right, you agreed with horses on the "those who knowingly deny Christ will go to hell", correct? or am I wrong on this?
-
UnLoving NewbieHere's the thing -
If they don't know about him, they go to hell.
If they do and deny him, they go to hell.
So the least we can do is inform them. -
SO that they can spend a life of servitude to praise a being simply for fear of going to hell.
-
UnLoving NewbieUm yeah I guess so
