UnLoving NewbieI don't understand.
My faith is running so thin.
And it's not because of the reasons most teenagers lose faith (sex, drugs, being "cool", all this other crap)
I don't really know why I'm loosing faith.
I'm just having all these doubts and feeling so pressured.
I tried to not be a Christian for just one day, just to see what it's like.
Impossible.
I am so "defensive" if you will about God an The Bible that it's just not even sane almost.
I'm a HypoChristian.
A hypocrite; defends/teaches bible teachings but barely believes in them myself. I mean I do....I just.....I don't know anymore. -
You're thinking for yourself. At this point you need to stop worrying about others and do some "soul searching".
If you have something you're not sure about, look it up. Figure out if there are alternative answers to Christianity. Find the scientific explanation, and even if the results seem scary, at least you will have had them.
Until we have heard both sides, we will never be able to make a truly honest decision. -
Honestly, so much of what we call Christianity is merely tradition. The people I know who best embody what Jesus want us to be aren't the people who interpret the Bible as literal truth, but simply just live by the example of Jesus Christ. It is hard at first to make a spiritual or mental change, and maybe you never will transform completely, but simply exploring other possibilities can affirm what you believed all along. My guess is that you are Christian because your family is Christian, in which case I would encourage you even more to think freely. It is very important to question the value system around you as opposed to simply accepting every answer as absolute truth.

UnLoving NewbieThanks for your advice guys :)
So today in school we were studying different religions and I'm all like thinking (I think this was toward Islam or something) "This is so stupid. Some guy wrote a dumb bible and they started praising him."
-_-
I guess....who knows. -
If I were you I wouldn't say that about other religions. It's all about respect, they think the same thing about your religion and you would be defensive about it.
-
UnLoving NewbieThat was basically the point of the post
Plus I was only thinking that. -
I agree with bob about the soul searching ( don't think this is about converting you to atheism or anything : P I'm being your friend here). Keep in mind that you're a TEEN, the most radical, confusing, life changing experiences happen because you're trying to find yourself (trust me I'm going through a s---ty phase right now). Realize that their are different religious and you don't have to strictly follow the bible. In the end it's up to you! Your parents can't keep spoon feeding you a religion.

UnLoving NewbieThanks sapphire :)
Idk even what to do but I'm sure I'll find my way :) -
What I DID was just pray to God and just ask for his guidance and read your bible. Look that happened to me and I worked it our though God and the Bible
-
Yes, you've become the kind of person that gives Christianity a bad name.
-
really?? how have I
-
She just said that religion is the reason she's feeling the way she does. Keep in mind im not saying that she should completely abandon hre religion but try to look at her life differently and experiment with new things to see if she can find herself.
-
UnLoving Newbie@bob - I disagree. lovehorses isn't like that at all
@lovehorses - I've tried. And....nothing. Nothing has come out of it. -
Really? Ok hmmmm
Hey I have a bible verse for you
"they that wait soon the Lord shall renew their strength....
Is 40:31 -
@lovehorses: this is the exact reason she's so stressed over religion, because people like you keep pushing it, stop quoting bible verses (it's only making it worse) and let her find her own way into her religion of choice.
