look at the Latin roots.
Agnostic is not a stand point. It's a way to further explain a standpoint.
"Theist" = belief in a theistic God.
"A" meaning "lack of"
So "Atheist" simply means lack of belief in a theistic god.
"Gnostic" is the Latin word for knowledge. By claiming you are "Agnostic" you are simply claiming you are too ignorant to make your own decisions. -
But you can be an Agnostic Theist or an Agnostic Atheist, am I right?
-
By your terms bob, I'm an atheist, but I just say agnostic because most atheists I know constantly disprove any form of religion every chance they get. I'm more of an 'I don't know, I really don't care, I'll live how I want to'. But when put to the argument of religion, I disprove it.

Ever heard of the Dawkins Scale?
I'm between a 5 and a 6. Used to be about a 2. -
I'm more of a 4-5 but then again on somethings such as evolution I'm a 7

I'm pure agnostic.
I'm not to ignorant to make my own dicisions, I've been raised in a christian household but now the facts are seeping in and I'm having doubts. I've never thought much about religion until now, so I am pure agnostic. -
I also think of myself as being a pure agnostic. There really is no way of knowing whether or not God exists, certainly not in a universe with infinite possibilities. I'm about a 4 or 5 on the Dawkins scale, the evidence is pretty clearly on the side of atheists. Stephen Hawking himself has stated that God is not necessary for the existence of the universe. I don't take that to mean God does not exist however.

I think so, idk. It doesn't really water to me

I'm like a 5-6
