You know, when you grow up in a family of let's say..Jews!
You are expected to know every single kind of part about the religion. Such as, who is the Jewish god? And what is the Jewish bible say, word for word on every single page in the whole book? I mean, c'mon! That's so hard to remember!
I'm not talking about Jewish families, just giving an example. Plus, not putting any stereotypes out there. I could've said the Muslim or Punjabi religion, but just came up with Jewish at the top of my head.
Seriously though, it's crazy. -
UnLoving NewbieYes religious people can be insane.
My family forces me into Christianity.
I mean, I want to be a Christian, but by choice.
I've explained this to my mom and she's like "Well if you want to be a Christian, what's the difference?"
The difference is I'm in charge of my mind and my heart.
Plus I hate all these preppy little volunteers at bible studies e-e
This is the s--- that makes people think Christianity is insane; people can be so forceful upon their loved ones. -

YES, you can only be a true Christian by choice! Only you can decide :) -
@unloving: I understand exactly what you mean. Of course, in the end, there is a difference. Only you can decide in the end whether you want to be a Christian or not. Nobody really can force you. I've grown up in a Christian family, but my mother isn't what influenced me to be a Christain. I decided to be one for myself.
When it comes to church, there actually can be a lot of problems within churches. (reference to the preppy volunteers comment. P.S. I COMPLETELY understand that too.) I don't like some of the people at my church either. But, in the end, even if Christians are Christians we are also human. So when I go to that stuff I go to help sustain my relationship with God. Plus, on the good side, even if there are people that you don't like there could always be a friend waiting in the wings somewhere. You never know. -
UnLoving NewbieThanks, guys :)
I have a really hard time going to churches. Religion, to me, is such a private thing that I like to keep to myself. When I go to churches, I feel like everyone there is judging me, like they're so much better than me spiritually. Except at this one church because it's really big and I'm talking huge like massive like there's a big screen and a stage and stuff. Anyway, it's so much more my type because everyone else there are rich snobs - totally my kind of people, honestly lol. The people at small churches...eh I just feel like they're judging me. This is why I have a hard time with bible studies.
Anyway, I'm sorry Br0wnieBunny I completely took over your thread XD Forgive-me-cookie? -
I'm Christian. But I am Christian because my family is, also because I wanna be Christian. And I like that you don't have to go to church. I am usually busy on weekends so I don't get to go to church often. But people don't judge me because of that, they understand that I was busy! That's why I like it.
