Some of you complain about christians trying to shove the religion down their throats but you do the same with athiesm. We all have opinions, we all need them respected. It's just hypocritical to me. I get how you people like arguing about religion, but don't be hypocrites about it, and don't make it too personal or harsh either. We all hate to have things about us criticized, including religions, so calm down with your 'All religions suck'
'Proof that religions aren't real' stuff, because the way you're wording it
Is offensive to a lot of people.
Now for a little christianity thang that popped into my head.
Not trying to force you. Just putting this out you.
All you 'religion and science can't be together in one' people, a lot of the stuff in the bible, like when the one guy walked in the air over the wire because he believed in god, and all the stuff like that, METAPHORS. Just in case you didn't know :P
Please reply to both sections of my post. -

Yes, we are aware that isn't meant to be taken literally. It's actually the Christians that seem to think everything in the Bible is literal truth as opposed to good storytelling.
-
I never start off offensive. It's only when someone attacks me, my friends, or refuses to have a logical conversation. That's when I become an a--hole.
Also, picking and choosing what in the bible is metaphorical is the most ignorant bull I've ever heard. You can't tell me any reason other than because you want to believe so to explain why you take some sections literal and some metaphorical. -
Well that was to everyone who thinks that way.
Good.
Eh, I don't like religion arguments but I'll talk alittle.
I'm not nit-picking which I believe are metaphors or not, it's a little obvious, and that was just an example. I think it's left up to you, to determine which is a metaphor and isn't, maybe they all are, maybe they all aren't.
when did I even say I picked what was and wasn't?
I don't want one of those big annoying fights so dun get angryyy~ -
I won't get angry. But if you want to get technical, you are choosing to believe in the existence of a God because of the bible. So you're taking that literally. You believe there's a heaven. You take that literally. And yet you claim that so much of it is metaphor.
It kinda defeats the purpose of being "The word of God" when it's up to interpretation. Under that idiology, nobody ever can ever be punished for ever doing anything. If God's law is all up to interpretation, then people could simply decide what they want it to mean. -
*Claps for wolfy*
Dude just because it is the word of God doesn't mean it doesn't have to be interpreted. You aren't offending God by not taking it literally word for word -
My point still stands. If it's up to interpretation, how can he expect to JUDGE you on them?
-
You have to interpret the meaning behind it, not change what it means completely and follow your own rules.
-
exactly.
-
There are 41,000 divisions of Christianity. All of them interpret something differently.
-
Yay :)
-
I meant yay to mymindisnotclean......and what do you mean by divisions? *.-
-
this is wolfy.
And some of them may not be right, point? -
Oh. Hey Wolfy :p
