The song is saying "Go have sex!"
I will attempt to explain how, but based on the fact that you didn't understand the Bob's brain thing....eek. Here's my attempt to explain:
It's through subliminal messaging.
When you flash an ad on TV so fast no one can see it that says "Buy popcorn!", everyone who was looking at the screen still got he word processed in their mind's and are influenced to get up and go but popcorn.
The song says "sex" over and over.
Even if the child doesn't understand what the word means, or even doesn't hear the word "sex" in it, their mind is still processing the word.
When they hear the word over and over, they are influenced to do it. -
Buy popcorn*
-
Why be so squeamish and in the dark about sex
-
Does the song say "Go have sex!"? No, it does not.
That doesn't prove anything. I can say the word "tree" over and over, and it's not gonna make her want to be a tree. -
I meant to say "over and over to my sister", and that's why I put "her" after that.
-
I listened to it and my interpretation of it is that it's about a girl that when he makes love to her he feel like in heaven-in pure paradise. And when he was rejected by her he said that it feels he's been locked out of heaven. That's the great thing about music, EVERYONE INTERPRETS A SONG DIFFERENTLY, just like any other art form such as paintings, sculptures, books, words. Bruno Mars is 27 years old, he can have sex it's no big deal. He's not singing about how to have sex, when you should have sex, ect. I don't get what's the big deal about sex with some people. It's a natural human experience. If you don't like the song, just switch to the next station, when a parents doesn't want their children listening to a song that they think is inappropriate for their kids to hear then they can switch the station. But making sex seem like this uber complex secret thing that kids should never know about actually makes kids, especially teens, even more curious about it. And since many people make the topic of sex uncomfortable, kids are forced to find other, mediocre sources to find information about sex like the Internet and their little friends. And that's where the problem lays.

Hey kids! I've had sex! It was pretty awesome! I'd even recommend it! Just remember to disobey your parents, don't wear protection, try all kinds of kick ass drugs and alcohol, and don't forget to pray to Satan every night!

@DOA --- I don't think you understand subliminal messaging.
@sapphire --- so you're basically saying that if children don't hear the word sex over and over they will be curious about it. I'm not uncomfortable about sex just because I don't think it's right for children to be influenced to do it.
@bob --- yeah you tell your children that then
And what do you mean I'm a subliminal message?
I don't think that's....just how is that possible? -
I know what it means. You just don't want to reply to my comment, so you loop it back around to what you know.
-
Dude. It's a song.
-
@DOA --- obviously she's not going to be influenced to turn into a tree. That's why I'm not so sure you understand. Because you just doubted the fact that subliminal messages even work.
@sapphire --- so we should teach children that sex is just a fantasy world by letting them hear the word over and over?
@dannylover --- yes. A song that influences children in a negative way. -
Actually damask, for DOA, you missed the premise of her post. She was pointing out that the song isn't actually telling children to have sex. It isn't even directed towards children. It's just talking about sex. The only one who even implied that it is at all affiliated with children, is you.
As for what you said to Sapphire, you could always do your own damn parenting. Even if they hear a song about sex, are you seriously going to blame the song if they go out and do it? Or are you going to take responsibility for your children's lives?
And damask, if you're going to go THAT far and say that anything children hear in songs will be taken literally and as an invitation, then I suggest you never let any child watch a Disney movie. They're full of young people running away from home, stealing, disobeying their parents, and trying to find love. -
*Thinks about leaving*
You guys are aware of the subliminal messaging in Disney, right?
And I'm not referring to bob's post. -
You mean where the word sex is hidden in different scenes? Or how in The rescuers down under there is a split second blip of a p---o? Yes. We are aware of those. But they do not ruin the movies for children.
-
The exact opposite, parents nowadays are asshats that blame their children's misbavior on tv, radio, and celebrities rather than their s---ty parenting
