How sick and tired I am of hateful, forceful, and holier-than-thou Christians.
You give us a bad name. :I You give Jesus a bad name. You talk about wanting to be like Jesus, and yet you go around talking to non-believers like they are lower than you, and you ignore their questions and logic as if they're just stupid or something. It's as if you only want to convert people for your own reputation and not because you care, and even if you do care you go about it so harshly and ignorantly. I don't deny my beliefs, but I also don't force them down everyone's thoughts because I know first hand that's not how you find God. Many of you have been raised in the church and haven't gone through a point in your life where you truly break and find God's spiritual guidance and love. Where you're on your knees, broken, and yet somehow you feel something so healing, like dying from dehydration and finally drinking water.
I didn't come back to God because a preacher told me I was going to burn in hell or I was a stupid little child for having questions. My testimony is actually when a friend showed me Flyleaf and I listened to Lacey's story. I wondered what it was like to know God on a personal level rather than a cold religious level. If a non-believer scoffs at you, if they disagree and if you don't have an answer to satisfy their needs, then shake off your sandals and move on. You're not their judge. It's not your job to change them. It's simply your job to not deny your faith, try your best to explain why you believe what you believe, or find resources that better show the belief, and pray it makes a difference.
We're no better than anyone else. In fact, we're supposed to be humble, understanding and loving. If you can't do anything positive, then don't say anything at all. -
Preech Ana, Preech!
-
If we don't try to convert, we must not care at all about what happens to other people. We respect their decision, we just...we try. We try, ok? You can't always influence people's religious beliefs but we can try.
-
Damask, Ana is a friend of mine. Her and I are polar opposites on the religious spectrum and yet if she came to me and wanted to talk to me about Christianity, I would listen and consider everything she had to say. I would do this because she is the proof that religious people can be sensible and not so thick skulled that they lack basic human ability understand someone else's view.

That doesn't have anything to do with what I posted but ok. Do that then ._.
-
Actually, it does have to do with what you said. I was pointing out that by being much more subtle and not constantly trying to tell people about your god, you will get much better responses and people will be much more receptive to what you say.
-
Dude were in the religion forum. I'm not going to start talking about what I had for lunch. I come here to talk religion.
-
Then keep it to the bloody religion forum. Religion is like your genitals. The religion forum is like the nudist club. Go ahead and flaunt it here. We'll debate and dispute our opinions. People won't fault you for that here as long as you're actually willing to participate in the DEBATE. A debate however does not involve illogical responses, threats of damnation, and ignoring anything that doesn't follow your code. You have to actually consider what people have to say and be an active part of the conversation.
Also, going back to the whole "religion is like genitals" thing. People also get frustrated that you seem to revolve around yours. You rarely do anything outside of the religion forum for people to actually establish a positive connection in order to receive your message pleasantly. And that doesn't even matter because the few times you do venture out in the the rest of the f---ing world, you're so consumed by your deity that people CAN'T have a pleasant conversation with you.
tl;dr
-You aren't sociable, because you never do anything but religion.
-You don't do anything but religion, therefor people don't get to like you
-People don't get to like you, therefor your preaching is disliked. -
Pfff. I already knew I wasn't sociable.
You know I do have a life other than this forum, right?
You're making it sound like I sit I here all day and don't have a life.
The only reason I come on here is to go into this forum, because I have a life other than this site.
And do you even know what I went through to decide.....never mind. -
my best friend doesn't believe in god but i talk to him like a normal person
-
So don't with my friends....just not in this forum....can you guess why?....come on, you know this one.....
-
So do I with my friends*
-
Because on here you don't care about the people since you don't know them and you refuse to listen to anyone else's opinions, especially if they aren't consistent with your own?
-
For the last time, ANYONE ANYONE CAN POST THEIR OPINION HERE! I MIGHT SAY WHY I THJNK THEIRS IS WRONG BASED OFF OF MY RELION BUT THEY CAN DO THE SAME TO MY OPINION SO I REALLY DON'T SEE A PROBLEM HERE
