Thread Topic: Help

Haven't been here in a LONG time. I can't even remember the last time I posted. But here's the thing, I can't seem to sleep tonight and I need help.
Do any of you guys have any idea how to help a friend who's mother is verbally and emotionally abusive? Her mother is constantly pushing her to do well in everything and is putting her way past her limit. She's too harsh and strict on my friend and it's beginning to show. She gets called names and sworn at, and threatened. Once she was slapped. I know this is abuse. I'm kind of downplaying it here because I'm tired but I looked it up. She is always really quite and feels bad about herself because of this. I don't want her to get hurt.
Does anyone have any advice? Information? -
If the friend doesn't like confrontation, don't go to the school. I've been through counseling for abuse and noting was done but an awkward confrontation. I'd say call the police and if you friend has any scars or hit marks that are recent take a picture, it will help to prove it before it fades away.

Yeah, it's mostly just verbal abuse. There isn't anything physically harmful yet that I've seen. I just don't know what would happen to my friend after if we told someone. That's one of the things that bothers me.

Well she needs some help. Have her write down what her mom says to her after its said. Keep record. Time, date, anything that will prove she's done it. I'd say go to the guidance councilor every time it happens so they also have record you came in.

What Anna said, keep records and Maybe have CPS involved?
I'm not sure, but CPS is an child abuse organization. -
Basically what the others all said ^^
and evidence.
