The AKS, GTQIA, and LEGION, need to unify.
The very idea of a GTQ protection was founded with the creation of LEGION. It's ideals were the safety and protections for all members who find sanctuary on this wonderful site.
I remember when I used to think about the idea; it used to send shivers down my spine with pride. Sadly, the idea has become something else. An idea leads to more ideas, this group of idea's lead to popularity, and a popular group, becomes an institution. We have become an institution. It has become a "cool thing" to be apart of this.
Not to mention the fact that the original ideals behind this was for all members of GTQ to be equals. I tried to embody this and actually practice what I preach. I was the founder of LEGION, the first secret police of GTQ. But yet even as so, I never had to tell others so. I held no rank.
It saddens me to see that what was once such a honorable and wholesome thing to do, has now become a system of government. I have seen what my 2nd foundings have become and it is a shameful parody of our former glory.
I ask all members as equals, of every group of protectors, to please stand beside me. Down with ranking. No one is any better than anyone else here. That is what makes GTQ our home. We are all equals here. Let all of our groups combine. Let all members of GTQ who wish to help the greater good, do so without a trial, or a vote. Let us unite as one.
We are many with a single purpose. We are a thousand voices crying out in harmony. We stand under no flag for there is no title to our name. We are the many. And we share this sanctuary as equals and as defenders. Not as an institution. -
I totally agree about being equal, as I was discriminated against as a 'Newbie'. :(
Don't take our titles so seriously, I think it's just to make us sound more official, and superficially, 'cool' as they say.
I just suggest asking Kish as I don't want any potentially heated disagreements.
I was oblivious to the fact that people were going to take the GTQIA so seriously; I really didn't think anyone cared. I thought it was just our own little group; with a purpose on the side. -
What bothered me the most was that it had to be made in the first place. Does there really need to be a division at all in GTQ? And also, why does there have to be a vote? Are you only accepting members you like? Doesnt anyone who wants to protect this site have the right to.
Like I said, I was the creator of the very first GTQ police and to see how far out of control and how much it's been warped really disturbs me. -

You can ask Britt what all the LEGION has done for him. When he showed up and was a dick, we attacked him. When he realized how he was acting and he changed his ways, we protected him. The legion keeps the peace. The legion believes in Mercy before Justice.

And if the 2nd foundings of the Legion are dividing GTQ, then we will gladly be the firsts to step down.

This is kindof like socialism in a way, the basic idea, not the economics.
I would like to believe that this would be possible, but were all different. One person's is going to seem different than everybody else and we form barriers. We also vary greatly in age and sophistication and humor and all these different that are essential to GTQ.
The Legion did a swell job of introducing me into offbeat and chat threads and other things, but I still see discrimination towards me, that I won't be accepted by all. Bob, this is great proposal that you've set up, but it's just ambitious. GTQ is too big for everyone to follow this. New generations of GTQ aren't receiving proper "assisting." It would almost be a hassle to be head of the legion with all the newcomers. It's a big job.
I'm not sure my meaning is very clear, but my main point is... Bob, you seem to be one of the most sophosticated users here and you've got a head on your shoulder. Your proposal, is great way to keep peace intact and explore new friends. It contains multiple other benefits as well, though, it's just too much to as for it to be possible. -
I understand your point Britt, but the idea of something being too much for us as a whole to handle resides on the idea of lack of cooperation. I'm not denying that there are social Cliche's but I am saying that we dont have to glorify them and use them as threats. I have seen people who have been accepted into these groups who have no idea what they are really becoming a part of. I have personally been threatened by your GTQIA because a member didnt know what they were talking about. It's pathetic to watch the amount of discord and chaos that is caused by giving people with big heads a place of ill concieved power.

Oh my goodness, was all this happening when I departed?
Why the GTQIA was made in the first place? To set a warning to all trolls and hackers, it was unrealistic to think we could get rid of them all and consequently this site would be a bed of roses. But our good intentions were and we tried. Me on the other hand? I wanted to lend my assistance in anyway and had fun making our own little group; that was, unfortunately, taken so seriously.
I am, though, disappointed in the handling of some cases; many were disrespectful, unfair and unprofessional. Consequently, it resulted in feeding the troller, stooping to their level of possessing a despicable character and loss of credibility in our intentions.
I also condemn the starting of other pointless groups, as they were started purely because they couldn't join. As for the voting? I didn't mind letting users join at free will, but I wasn't going to have a heated disagreement ensue as I wanted to oblige by the Rules and Regulations.
It's just a quiz site, with a little group, that as been taken so seriously!
Everyone is talking about socialism, justice and mercy!
We are the GTQIA, a little overrated group, not the real government authorities, for goodness sake!
It's downhill now if you ask me. What's the point in in existing if no one wants our existence or assistance? It's been misinterpreted and misunderstood, and exaggerated. I couldn't be bothered anymore... -
The idea of groups designated to protecting GTQ has crumbled. Sadly, the idea has spread and now people are making groups for anything and are focusing on the rankiing. They're focusing on all of the worst qualities of groups and are oblivious to it. I even tried to talk to them directly about it and they were right back to it less than a page later.
If we are going to dissapate the groups as a whole we need to work together to end them. We need to stop this before it gets out of hand.
Think about it, if groups start becoming more frequent it wont only be the noobs who feel secluded and are alienated. Anybody who goes to a thread will either be part of a social class or will be attacked for it. You can see how far things have gotten out of hand so far, imagine how quickly things will spiral out of control. -

yesh...we started a trend of people joining dA from gtq so we decided to group together..
is that a bad thing?
