This is not professional information and should not be used as such.
So, check this out. I know there are people who actually are physically unable to swallow pills. Or they have pill anxiety and struggle to get it down. This isn't a thread to help you "find hacks" to swallowing pills, so don't worry. If you can't swallow pills, you can't swallow pills. End of story.
You shouldn't be forced by your doctors or caregivers to try to swallow pills if you are unable to. No amount of pills wrapped in bread will help you learn if you can't do it.
Luckily, there are products for people like us. If you use antidepressants or anxiety medication, you are entitled to ask your providers for liquid, chewable, or dissolveable forms of the medications. Not all brands have the alternate forms, but I'll be listing medicines that do.
Celexa—a non-habit forming antidepressant that comes in the form of liquid. The generic name is citalopram. It is also noted as one of the safest antidepressants to start on.
Buspar—also non-habit forming, this is a really safe anxiety medication that can be found in a dissolvable/chewable form. It has low interaction rates, but one that is specifically noted is that you cannot have grapefruit while on Buspar. The generic name is buspirone.
Tylenol—everyone knows this one as a typical over-the-counter pain reliever. It's a rather big one. Luckily, there is powdered Tylenol available and I can say it works well. I've recently started taking it and it works wonders as opposed to trying to crush or dissolve the tablets. (Note: crushing and desolving tablets made for direct swallowing messes up the effectiveness because the tablets were made for a timed release activated by the digestion process. You may either recieve very little or a large dose at once thar doesn't work for long.) The brand name Tylenol is the one I noticed to have the powder form, which can be taken without water. This is safe to take with all previously stated medications, and the generic name is acetaminophen. -
Lamictal—another antidepressant that has other uses as well, lamictal is a dissolvable pill that you put on your tongue. It's often taken at night due to the chance of drowsiness. Lamictal is also used as a secondary help to Celexa and/or Buspar. The generic name of it is Lamotrigine.

Or just crush them up and put them in pudding...

I would like to clarify that this thread is for tips and help for people who are unable to swallow pills and looking for alternatives. Please do not give advice for swallowing pills. This thread is directed to the people who are physically unable to swallow pills and need alternatives to them.
