still don't understand the point of "fasting"
parents say it's ignoring ur body's needs for 24 hours or longer and instead tending to spiritual growth? wtf??
literally yesterday both my parents were fasting (basically starving and dehydrating yourself to get "spiritual") and they were tryna convince me to do it

gurl if u wanna get spiritual, get spiritual, but by no means do u need to cause pain to urself
like I asked if u fasted for a year wtf the point of that was bc u'd die
and they said if u died, u'd be close to god

I think the stuff that drove me away the most is the fact they threatened me face to face that if I didn't have a relationship with their god, they'd take away everything I loved
