Thread Topic: Need advice for my schooling
-
Well, I recently came into the option to begin homeschooling. My little brother has decided to, especially since he's often bullied and isn't really up for school. But I've come across the whole homeschooling option as well, and really I'm stuck.
I've asked this on Facebook but got no answer, so I have to ask on here too. Sorry.
So, basically I'm worried either way I turn. If I do homeschooling, I'm worried about not meeting people and just going into a lonely depression like I do whenever I don't get out much. On the other hand, I'm worried about the people here because I guess it's not the best school and really the schooling sucks anywhere near here so I know I'll get nowhere with my education. On homeschooling I guess I could go at my own pace and take whatever I really wanted... Just, I'm unsure and a little scared Dx
I know there are some people who have experience either way. So could I have some advice or information that might help? -
I would try taking one year or so of this new school at first. Then if you like it, you can stay. If you don't, you should be able to switch to homeschooling. Hope this helps :D

I agree with bunnies. Try out regular school, and if you don't like it,be homeschooled.

Thanks you guys :D

I just feel bad for my mom and brother. My brother is going to be alone without someone who'll willingly listen to him babble on and my mom'll probably go insane not being able to gossip to someone ever since she stopped working xP
-
You brother should be fine. Its only a few hours, and he should spend his time working and studying, not babbling. You mother will be okay too. I'm sure she'll meet some new friends there of someone.

or something not of someone*

I'm homeschooled, I've been homeschooled all my life.
Do I sound unsocial and depressed to you? xD
Like bunnies said, try homeschooling for a year or so. If you don't like it, just go back to public schooling.
But just to warn you...people think homeschoolers are unsocialized freaks. So you're going to be majorly insulted at least once. But in my opinion, that's really the only thing I don't like about being homeschooled. -
tongue AdvancedIf you're homeschooled, who teaches you? Your parents, right? Do they have to go through a certification process? I personally think you're better off at public school unless the school is really lousy and your parents could legitimately do it.
-
Well, they want to do some sort of online thing.

My mom was actually a public school teacher for several years before marrying my Dad and being a mom and all that stuff...so maybe I'm better off than most homeschoolers. :/
Although I have several homeschooled friends who seem just as smart as me...so...I dunno. -

tongue AdvancedHere's the question you should be asking Kaitie: Are your teachers so worthless that you could learn more from a computer?
-
tongue AdvancedAnd I'm not being sarcastic cuz that is the case with schools sometimes.
