There are so many people that act almost exactly like someone else. Similar way of speech or typing, similar interests, sometimes even similar appearances. Yet, we often will favor one and dislike the other.
For example, back in (about 8th grade?) there was a girl in my class. We had similar interests, which you would think would be really nice, but we both are leaders. We often clashed with each other, and at one point, the school made us both talk to a therapist to make us talk out our problems. We came to the conclusion that it was hard for us to talk merely because of our leader-like personalities. Neither one of us wanted to back down.
I guess my question is, do humans naturally turn away what appears to be a copy of something else? Not just themselves, but of other people. -
I don't thing we always naturally turn away. For example, I have this really close friend. Him and I are into the same exact stuff, say the similar things, and basically we're the same person just of opposite sex. We clash sometimes but I think what really brings the two of us together is the fact that we have someone who feels and thinks the same way as we do and we can connect with each other so well. So sometimes, especially if they're dominate personalities, they can clash, but if they're more passive personalities they could really end up liking one another.
