Thread Topic: A few questions about personality.
-
1. Do you believe that genetics can have an influence on your personality?
2. Do you think our personality changes as we get older, why?
3. Why do you think many people have "multiple sides" to themselves, but do not have multiple personality disorder?
4. Why do you think many people are often over paranoid about themselves having a mental disease?
5. Do you think that if you looked at a group of friends, that their personalities would all be very different, or would they be more dynamic and vary greatly. Would "opposites attract" hold out, or would "samness attract"?
6. If you said that genetics influence personality, then why do families feud so much? -
Yes.
You can be influenced throughout your life by many things, so yes. It's possible it may alter.
You're not always a happy ball of sunshine. We have emotions. Someone may be extremely violent when they're angry. They may rarely ever cry. Everyone's different.
It's a mix of both, but no one has the exact same personality. Their personalities can be similar, and some can be different.
Not everyone gets the same genes. Not everyone is going to agree on everything. It's not like your genes determine your entire personality. -
1. Actually, Yes I really do. Genetics is just things you get from family. Basically, something they past around that changes you (not exactly but-)
2. Yes. You often see changes and get intrigued by different things as you have experienced more.
3. Well... Everyone has a bad side and good side. Sometimes its depending on moods and no one can have the same mood their whole life.
4. I cant answer that exactly....
5. Both. Some people would be the same when others are in the group for attention by them.
6. Idk xP
^ Sades terrible POV -
I skipped 4.
I've seen in many people that people see them as beautiful, amazing, smart, etc. That person usually always seems to find what they may think is a flaw, and they get so paranoid over it. I'm not saying this is how it is for everyone. It's different for everyone. You can be born with it, or it can develop over time. -
1. Yes, I do. I did some research on it a while back. And I believe there is a correlation between genetics and personality. As well as genetics and way of thinking (which influences personality as well.)
2. Yes, due to different experiences we have. Plus some want to move to self improvement. So there's that.
3. Mood changes. Hormones. Environment. Sleep. Nutrition. A lot of things can make people seem naturally dualistic.
4. They likely just find a flaw- and as MN said, get obsessed over it. And they think something is wrong with them.
5. Both. I believe people connect on personality, but also differences. People that are the same might get bored without different reactions to different things. Also, there is always different and same likes.
6. Likely because they spend too much time together. Hormones. Nutrition. Sleep. Different beliefs. Feuding I think isn't directly influenced on personality. Also, some personalities are oddballs of the family, and are completely different than everyone else's. The "black sheep", so to speak. -
1) I am not sure of genetics. The environment mostly influences your personality, but it is not necessary. Genetics influences the thinking, thinking influences action, action - manners, manners - behaviour, behaviour - character, character may influence personality.
2) Yes, as we get older our personality changes. It, mostly, becomes better. Because old people have more experiences, they are mature and understand what life is all about. Hence, they improve their personality. Some people's personality becomes mature in a tender age.
6) Genetics influences. But when their are disagreements because of different thinkings, there are family feuds. Different thinkings because personality is not a constant, it's a variable; personality changes over time.
(I don't know the others) -
I honestly think genetics can pass down a lot more than what people give it credit for, so maybe, I'm not sure though. If so it's only slightly, as I don't havea personality much llike either of my parents. In fact the closest person who could've passed down genes for the kind of personality I have would be my grandfathers, and they don't fully account fot it either. ..
Probably, I have seen my personality change a bit, actually. It's probably more to do with outside factors,
I gtg Ill answer the rest later
