Tired of these bulls--- "user above you" threads.
Anyways, classical conditioning. Should it be used on people?
Some may argue that doing this to someone is fighting their natural reactions, but it could actually be handy when dealing with fears.
Your thoughts? -
I feel bad that your idea was ignored, doc

Although experimental classical conditioning should not be used for humans, as some say, but we are using conditioning in our daily life.
Eg. We get influenced by tv commercials.
It is also used in systematic desentization and flooding. -
(Why the random bumps, might I ask?)
Right, no denying we're being conditioned like that. Getting more used to blood and gore and whatever else the media throws at us. Desensitization is huge.
I'm talking about Pavlovian conditioning, though. Make people respond using that method. Or do you think it's the same thing? Because that would make sense, too. -

I don't see why it'd be necessary to cure fears with this unless it was a last resort. Fears can be overcome just by understanding where they originated from and understanding that they're irrational. I think it'd be better to cure them by understanding.
I think a similar thing is used in some advertising.
