Yay or Nay?
So I was at a friend's house yesterday along with his girlfriend, mind you he is younger than me(18) so he still lives with his parents, and while I was there his parents were giving him s---, like real bad.They called him out on everything...in front of me and his gf.I just felt totally bad, because the rest of the time he was down in the dumps.
I honestly believe it was slightly uncalled for, I mean he could have listened a little better but hell, poor guy.
I dunno, I just feel like parents who go on a power trip are just bad as parents who don't care at all.I mean, you want your kids to respect you not fear you.Fear would only cause them to do s--- behind your back-and that's not good because you'll never know what's going on.It just f---s with them mentally.I mean I know a lot of parents do it out of care, because they want their kids to learn but they should find some sorta balance.But oh well,I can't raise the nation. -
I mean...they could have waited til we left or asked us to go at least XD

Strict parenting is no fun. Trust me, I have strict parents. I know they love me and do things for me from time to time, but not being able to do as much as other kids my age is really disappointing.

I believe in strictly enforcing what you want instilled and being pretty blaise about everything else. But thats just me lol no experience on the matter to speak of..
Although in this scenerio, clear case of s---ty parentimg xD theyre just setting themselves up for the kid to say f--- it and get downright disrespectful, or just make him into a p---- xD

I hate strict parenting. It makes the kid feel like he/she's doing everything wrong and makes their life feel like s---, and it doesn't teach them how to do things, it just makes them resent the parent and generally just be worse at life.
