I respect people right away, but they can easily lose my respect and it's hard for them to earn it back

I don't respect people until they have proven theirselves worthy of earning my respect. Then, and only then, do I respect them.
But if they do something to make me lose respect for them, it's extreamly hard for them to earn it again. So I usually just forget about them.

Kind of hard,since I've been backstabbed in the past by people I thought were really cool...so yah.
