Ultimately, you should talk to your teacher about what to expect. It varies from school to school, and even from teacher to teacher. At my school, there's no difference between honors and AP, except for the fact that honors is for ninth and tenth graders, while AP is for eleventh and twelfth graders. For example, this year I could've taken Honors World History (and I'm disappointed I didn't), and I've applied to take AP US History next year.
