One would think that a binder full of papers saying you weren't insane would be a pretty good indication of one's mental state.
Unless you wrote them yourself, in which case the opposite would apply. -

Do your research and hm how about don't make it so that everyone can clearly see you're lying? Really, I thought it was obvious.

Whats obvious is that you're very young, not especially polite, and not very good at detecting dishonesty. Granted, statistically speaking, its unlikely, but given the dialogue above theres no indication of dishonesty outside of generalization logic. Which is a fair stance. As a rule assume everyone else is lying, but dont apply that rule when passing what is supposed to be rational judgement.
Most likely its a joke. Second most likely it's angst and misinformed self perception. Beyond that is guess work.
