Thread Topic: So guys, I have a question.

So, the last thing that my science teacher covered was sexuality. She told us that gay people are "born gay." I sort of had a question with this, if some people are "born gay", how come some people that were straight turned bi, pansexual, asexual, transsexual. Ect. ? I don't have anything against people who have different preferences ,but I wanted to know if it is possible that some of us where born gay. Is it that my teacher was wrong, or was this really true?

I'm not really sure...and that's because I'm bisexual myself XP My boyfriend( who is gay) says he's never had attraction towards girls at all, even at a young age. When he hit puberty that's when he noticed he was attracted to guys. Never was attracted to girls though...so I really don't know. I realized I was bisexual in my late teens, but before then was attracted to girls only.
I guess its just something that happens over time. -
I didn't realize I was bi until I found GTQ O.o XDXDXD

I believe no one is born gay but choose instead, to be gay over the course if their lives...
I know some girls who were straight, then after a sleep over (Wonder what happened there) decided they prefer girls over guys and later they felt they still have feelings for guys so now they bi... -
It's actually been proven people were born gay. Because homosexuality is also found in animals.
Becoming bi and such, idk lol. I guess you grow attracted to both in that case? -
I beleive we are all born neutral. We arnt smart enough at that age to actually decide our sexual prefrence.

I'm not sure, but I think it takes time to realize your sexuality. From the moment you're born, you're assumed to be straight. Relatives tell the girls they're going to make a man very happy one day, and tell the boys they're so handsome, the girls are going to be falling all over them. Parents say "when you get a girlfriend" to the boys and vise versa to the girls. Heterosexuality is taught to be the norm.
Therefore, and, as I said, this is just my speculation, it takes a while for people to realize they aren't heterosexual, accept the sexuality that will alienate them from the accepted norm, and identify as it.
I think the idea that people are born gay refers a lot to the idea that sexuality isn't a choice so much as a set factor in a person's makeup. A guy doesn't wake up one morning and say, "Yup. I'm into dick now." It's just kind of there.
