Thread Topic: Depression.
-
Am I the only one who lacks in helping one who's going through this? How can I help someone? Everytime I try, it doesn't work and I makes me upset because for one, I tried and the person doesn't even lighten up a bit.
-
I don't know about the people you deal with, but when anyone tries to address my depression, it feels like I'm wasting their time or looking for attention, even if they brought it up themselves or if they're trying to be helpful. It makes it a million times worse. Sometimes being close and making sure they know you care about them is the most you can manage.
Sorry I don't know what else to say -
I'm sorry.
-
No, don't be. I just really hate seeing them not try to happy.
-
That's something you should maybe think into a bit. Depression isn't about people not trying to be happy. They try so hard. Depression is a horrible feeling. It's helpless and all-consuming. Maybe there's a way out, but with depression, they'll never see it or think themselves in control.

*to be
Well.. Then I have no way to try to help. -
Do they have problems with physical contact?
-
Yeah.
-
Oh.. I don't know. I guess you could just ask how you can help them. That's a bit of a long-shot, since most won't actually know how anyone can help them, but.. Yeah. Sorry.

Depression is hard. Going through it, or trying to help someone who has it.
