they say that rudeness is a sign of weakness.
This is obviously meant to shame people who are not acting in accordance to what you or your cultures mainstream may think is right.
I agree actually, rudeness is an inability to charismatically deal with society; therefore a weakness.
But I don't agree with the intent behind the phrase in any way.
What they mean to say, is that weak people are not as good as strong people.
but here's the truth about it:
First, it's not easy to be strong, in fact it takes a lifetime to get right. If it was something simple everybody would do it.
Second, being strong, and appearing strong are two very different things. Strength and courage are mentally and physically hard to develop, and the decisions that have to be made in order to develop ones strength and courage, are not as popular as little slogans on the matter.
Third, and most importantly, you don't have to be strong or brave.
Some people are strong down to their bones. They spend their lives knowing what's worth fighting for, and how to fight for it, and they're strong enough to remain strong even when the storm hits, but some people just don't.
Some people don't have the strength and self control and knowledge that a fighter should have and that's ok, because the world needs nurses too.
