She doesn't respect us, she tries to disprove us.
-
UnLoving NewbieShe isn't trying to "disprove" you - she is just stating why she believes differently and what makes her believe that. She isn't saying you have to agree with her beliefs.
-
She's quite literally told me that I'm wrong. If she respected my thoughts on what I said she wouldn't say that I'm wrong.
-
UnLoving NewbieYour idea of disrespecting: Disagreeing with, stating why you think it is wrong
No. Respecting is not getting pissed off because someone believes something, states why they believe it, and sits there open to hearing your beliefs as well. -
UnLoving NewbieOkay yeah "You're wrong" is kinda...okay yeah in that case that's not very polite.
But all of bob's quotes were just her beliefs -
No, there are plenty of people I disagree with yet I still handle it in a respectful way.
I could say this another way, which would be disrespecting.
Your wrong Unloving. Disrespecting is not respecting my thoughts and beliefs, saying that I'm wrong with my thinking because I don't believe in what you believe in. -
You said we have to have an open mind when listening to each other, but she is saying that no matter what we tell her we will go to hell because we don't have her same religion.
-
UnLoving NewbieYou're right saying "You're wrong" isn't very polite, but maybe "I believe you are wrong" lol XD No...no...."I believe that is incorrect" or "I believe differently"
Eh it's all in how you word it when it comes down to it ._.
Anyway please don't hate me because I don't see how I did anything wrong... -
I don't hate you I'm just telling you why we, agnostics/atheists, are being pissed off by her, not just because of her beliefs but because of they way she puts it.
-
My favourite quote (not word by word though)
The beliefs are not the problem: it's the attitude. -
UnLoving NewbieBananabread, you have to understand that she believes that you will go to hell ._.
She doesn't believe that there are different heavens for different religions, she believes you are going to hell.
I'm not saying it's okay for her to tell you "You're going to to hell" but I'm just saying that that is what she believes and you cannot be angry with her for believing it. Hindus believe you will be reincarnated. You can't be mad at them for that either ._. -
UnLoving Newbie@carri - where's that quote from?
HEY HEY CAN YOU POST A PIC OF YOU?
And thank you bananabread for not hating me :) -
She can believe that, but she doesn't have to say it to every non-believer she knows. Plus, (I don't want to look for the quote) I'm almost positive she said that if there are other people who do believe in other religions are the wrong religion and they will go to hell as well.
I actually like Hinduism because it's about trying to find inner peace within themselves, and when you finally do you can go to Nirvana. I like it because instead of the one shot judgement of, "Did you live a decent life and follow this one God? Then you deserve an eternity in heaven," They are really working to reach their "heaven" -
who are you talking about? Should I ask or should I not?
-
You can ask, you could also go on the previous page but since you ask, it's you Lovehorses.
