Why do y'all make a "Is there anybody who I can tolerate?" threads? I understand you mean mature people, but when someone enters the thread (who is less than a year old and mature) you ignore them because they aren't your friend or they are "newish". Why? ._.

I guess it's more of a demeanor. I personally never check the age of users unless the question comes up. If the name is familiar, I try to be friendly. If it's not, then I try and be friendly anyways. I guess it's really in the way older users act in comparison to younger ones. There's a sense of confidence and forbearance that is easier to detect in older users.

Same as Sapphire. Some of the new users are friendly, like AnimePhan for instance =)

So yeah... I just ignore and leave out everyone generally. -
Some people are fed up with the cliquey people. Also it doesn't always mean older users, sometimes it's newer people who just can't stand certain people. If I ever make a thread like that it'd probably be because no one on is typing like they're over the age of 9 or everyone on is being cliquey and not allowing other people to join the conversation.

what makes a user an "old" user?

Danny, somebody has to be accepted as an older user if they are atleast 1 year, or 365 days old, mature, and worthy of showing that they can be classified as "old".

I think someone has to be older to be considered an "old user" I'd say 2 years just from the experience we've had with something we called, the wave of noobs

I have to agree with sapphire. There are some people from 2011 who I still don't see as old.

I think old users shouldn't actually be judged too much by how long they have been here though it kind of does count... Here is what I find in most of the old users...
Should know alot about this site like what increases your status and how to get quizzes to the front page and whatnot to being pretty mature with correct grammar and what not and not too much cussing.
Also I pretty much doubt they make second accounts because to me that is a big turn off but ofcourse I can never be too sure. -
I'm fine with cussing as long as it's not directed at someone else for stupid reasons.
