Thread Topic: thinking about moving out this summer
-
I know it'll be hard, but I really feel like I gotta get the hell outta here, yknow? I mean, I'm already paying for stuff now that I'm 18. Once I move out the extra will just be food and rent....and the cost of insurance will go up.
I was gonna get an apartment with my friend Jess, but she's going to school in Montana next year so she could only be my roommate for the summer. but honestly I dont wanna live with her anyways. cuz I feel like she'd get in trouble for drugs and have the cops searchin the place and I'd end up in trouble too cuz I live there. Like, she used to be my best friend. but now all she does is party. she doesnt give a s--- about where her life is going anymore, or anything or anyone else. so its harder to get along with her.
so I'll probably live with my boyfriend, which could possibly get me disowned from the family but yknow.... like I know he wants to move out, he's living with his parents still, the only one of all his friends who still is (hes 21). but he doesnt really have money. he said his boss told him he can have more hours at work, so that would help.
yeah... -
:I that's a big step Carla. I think if you want to stay where you are, go with your boyfriend because he could help, or at least try, to pay the rent as well. Whereas you could get into legal trouble with the police and you'd be on your own with Jess.

yeah. my parents say they dont want me to move out, but theyre treating me more like a kid now that I'm 18, like as soon as I legally am an adult they decide to give me more restrictions.. makes me want to leave more. Like theyre not stupid, they gotta know what theyre doing makes me think, 'hey... I dont like this, I can leave whenever the hell I want'
Yeah I dont think I'm gonna live with Jess, that was my original plan though, the last couple years we were saying we'd live together, but this year that all kinda changed.
the only problem with living with my boyfriend is my family will be quite peeved. Cuz theyre catholic, its not right to live with a guy unless youre married! cuz that means youre having sex! and you have to be married to do that! and also how hard itd be to figure stuff out if we broke up but we're not supposed to think about that part yknow -
Yeah I see what you're saying. :/
Make sure there's two different beds so they don't worry? Idk. Are there any other friends who you could live with? -
Staying with a friend seems like a better idea, but if you can't then stay with your boyfriend-anything happens just move back in with parents or something.Moving in with brandon this summer,so yeah.

-
:o my boyfriend has some family in Arizona and he almost moved there last year
-
Oh.
-
I could live with my "long lost cousin" whos actually not related..
haha me and my main squeeze were talking about the moving out thing, we decided I can just tell my family he's gay XDD -
Your parents disagree with you living with your boyfriend right?
-
@ Viktachow, yah :P
-
If you live with your boyfriend then what if....um ......you break up?
-
yeah havent figured that out, honestly I'm the chick AND the one with the money, so he'd probably be the one leaving and I'd probably try to find a new roommate. Otherwise we just have to work through whatever the problem is. its not like highschool relationships anymore, ya cant just break up and never talk to eachother again, a lot of times adults have to work through their problems
-
but yeah we definately at least thought about that a lil bit, we decided that even though studios are cheaper than 1 bedroom apartments, we're gonna go for a 1 bedroom, cuz at least we can give ourselves a little bit of space from eachother if we have to. and we're planning on having his bed in the bedroom and mine is a bunk bed with a couch on the bottom so that'll be in the living room, and theres the bed on top if we need it haha. and the couch does fold into a bed too..
