Homosexuals can force themselves to like the same sex at will? They CHOOSE to hide for however many years before coming out? And when they do, they've CHOOSEN to be ridiculed and teased? They CHOOSE to put up with people like the folks from Westboro Baptist Church? They CHOOSE to be harassed online until they've killed themselves? I've heard people say that the only reason people CHOOSE to be gay is so they can rebel against Christanity. You really think they'd put up with all that just to piss you off?

I just say if you're straight, imagine that the standard were to like the same sex. Then you'd know what they're going through.

I honestly can't remember ever making a choice in my sexuality. Hehe, I didn't even know I was gay or that it wasn't the norm until a family member explained curtly that it "was wrong". (They have since changed their stance.)
What really troubles me is the idea that gays can't adopt, or they'd influence their children to their 'lifestyle'. Uh, yeah right. My parents weren't gay and yet here I am. -

Well, if you think about it, everyone chooses who they like. I mean, if you like someone, then your brain chose them. Im straight. Im just saying that technacally, people do choose who they like and what gender they like, but its not a choice they can controll at will. I like this guy, but i wasnt sure if i liked him until i suddenly found that i couldnt talk to him or be next to him without blushing or saying something stupid. So oviously, some part of me chose to like him, but the part of my brain that made that choice is the sub-consious; the part of our brains that we can not controll at will. So i guess what im saying is that yes, in a way someone can choose to be straight or gay, but at the same time someone cant choose their sexuality. It just depends how you look at it

dw1996 NewbieA gay person can choose to be straight, but it will always feel wrong. A straight person can choose to be gay, but it will always feel wrong. And I'm not sure you really choose who you love, because there are some people who just aren't meant to be together.
