Yes, I'll agree very much on the fact that America is one of the freest nations in the world, and hell yeah I'd rather live here than many other places. However, we can't ignore our issues because of this.
In general, what we call 'freedom' is actually 'security'. The majority of people want to fit into a mold. Of course we all want to fill our needs to eat well and have a good roof over our heads, but we've gotten to the point we've become distracted with things that simply don't matter. Money, material possessions, status, power, and popularity. This is where communism breeds. The idea that 'we're all equal'. Sounds nice, right? But it doesn't mean what we think it doesn't. It isn't equality in the sense that we are all human and we have the same rights as everyone else, (i.e. No matter your race, gender, religion, sexuality, beliefs, personality, ect. you have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else), though it is twisted to sound like it. No, it's equality of no variation from the status quo. Everyone has the exact same wages, lifestyle and 'security', no matter their talents, abilities, or quality of work. This is where the choice comes in, do we want to be completely secure, or do we want to test the water and shoot for something higher?
Now, I'm not saying we don't have problems with the capitalist system we do have, because of course we do. I believe we need to focus our energy on cutting out the corruption, instead of completely turning our system over to the government, because believe me, bureaucrats and big business are two in the same. Hungry with power and greed. The power should literally be IN THE PEOPLE'S HANDS.
I believe that it should be a part of society that we help each other out and do what we can always, that it shouldn't have to be a law and a welfare system to do that. (Call me idealistic, I suppose) Basically, charities should do the job of helping those in need instead of the government. That old phrase 'a hand up instead of a hand out' is true.
Should I even post this? Eh, I've spent quite a bit of time writing it. I'm passionate about this kind of stuff. I feel like politicians make things much more complicated than it needs to be. I also happen to believe they do this so they can keep making false promises and keep getting elected so they can 'help' the problems. :I I'm sick of that. Trust me, if they really cared about our best interests in the first place, things would have been changed a long time ago. Because most of those bakas have been in Washington for years... -
Infinity NewbieAMEN TO THAT! (sorry, I had to)
Last paragraph
Politics do currupt the system. That is the one of the last things I would want to be my career to be. (I'll be back with more, I'm not thinking to well, It's somewhat late.) -
This seems more of an argument against authoritarian communism and not anarchist communism so I don't really have much of an input.
It would be off subject, but I could go very deep into my political orientation and its relation and contradiction to yours. -
dw1996 NewbieCommunism just turns everyone into the working class. No free thought, no property, no wealth, nothing. If you are concerned about the poor, there are charities who could use your time and donations. That's the real solution. People should be more willing to help others on their own instead of expecting the government to wipe everyone's ass.
