It really kind of makes me upset when people who spew the teachings of Ayn Rand also happen to be Christian. (PS if you do not know Ayn Rand, a quick Wiki search will tell you what you need to know.) This bothers me for a few different reasons. First, I like neither Christianity nor the works of Ayn Rand. I have limited patience with people who subscribe to either, though I would Christians are much easier to get along with than Randians, maybe because they want to get into Heaven or whatever. The pairing also bothers me because Ayn Rand and Jesus are almost polar opposites. Jesus is quoted as saying that we will be judged by how we treat the poor; Rand advocated selfishness as a virtue and believed the poor are hopelessly parasitic. Ok, that's my rant basically.
P.S. have a written this before? It feels very familiar. -
I agree. Jesus says to help the poor not, be a selfish dick.
