I currently live in a very red state. Like, according to LGBTQ+ "safe" and "unsafe", my state is one of those very dark red if not already "do not travel" for queer people like myself.
I've been attempting to search for options. So far, Canada or Colorado seems to be my most likely chances currently. However, Canada seems growingly unsafe and immigration in general is difficult.
I want to be a baker, which would make about $64k annually (about $20/hour) in Denver, CO according to Indeed. I may not want to live in Denver but I would be okay with it if I did. Would that be a sustainable/livable for a small apartment, basic food+water+heat+AC, and basically anything else a person would need to be comfortable? (No partner, no kids, pets only if I can nearly 100% afford it long-term, since that probably makes a difference).
I'm currently a minor, so this would preferably be looking for the future a few years. I'm not an economist nor from Colorado so I'm not sure. I'd just like to verify a plan to skedaddle out of my current state, I'll work on backup plans as well.
I know this can be a lot to ask for, but I'm stressed and scared, and would like to know I have the option of safety that's somewhat affordable. -
I just would like to know if it's safe, reasonable, and somewhat affordable without having to have 4 jobs for basic needs.

maybe research how the government works in Denver and the political stances and the real estate and the moving requirements.
-
and I'm also currently working on a plan to leave the country, so we could probably help each other.

I'll probably stick in the US for now, until I can afford to actually move out of the US
Colorado seems like a more affordable blue/left state in the US than California (which is also really left, but is SO expensive) -
yeah
