Thread Topic: Gay marriage ban in Minesotta
-
This past week the Minnesota State Senate added a bill to the 2012 ballot which would alter Minnesota’s state constitution to define marriage as being only between a man and a woman. The bill was added to the ballot by a depressing vote of 70 to 62.
There’s still about 17 months to go before the ballot will actually be voted on by the public, so we really are right at the beginning of this whole ordeal. Looking at how both sides to the issue are handling things, it’s probably going to get pretty ugly pretty fast. -
I hate homophobia!!!!!!!! Just kill the world!!!!!!! Honestly, humans are despicable!!!!
-
I think the reason the U.S. governement does support the man and woman definition of a marriage because that was the foundation the U.S. was built upon.
-
tongue AdvancedThe divorce rate in America is 40%. How's that foundation working out?
-
johninMI NewbieI don't really understand homosexuality. It doesn't seem quite right to me. I know that sounds kind of backwards and dumb, but alot of people feel that way. I don't support gay marraige, and I have no problem with a state deciding to outlaw it.
-
Hey JoninMI, I'd advise you to get the fuk out of this site fast. Over half the users are bisexual and your comments are kinda insulting me.
-
johninMI NewbieI'm sorry if I offended you, I meant no harm. I don't hate gay people, or anyone for that matter. I was not aware that so many people here have a different sexual preference. Good to know, thank you.
-
Yeah. And the users are very very defensive on the subject. Even saying you don't know how you feel about it seems offensive.
But I must say also, that sometimes I kind of feel like marriage in general is stupid. It's pretty much a way for the government to track your social life. So sometimes I feel like no one needs to be married. But that's just me. -
johninMI NewbieI disagree on that front. I think marraige is very sacred. I don't neccessarily mean that in a religious way, but I think it's a very important act of commitment to another person.
-
tongue AdvancedI'm a romantic, so yeah, I like marraige. But I do think our society puts too much emphasis on it. Gay marraige is an issue of equality really. It isn't even about marraige as far as I'm concerned.
-
I'm sorry JohninMI about last night, I was pissed slightly.>.< But thanks for not getting defensive when I flipped out on ya.:3
-
johninMI NewbieIt's cool.
-
johninMI NewbieWow that's harsh. I'm not actually a homophobe if that's what you think. Actually, yes, I am a jock.
-
John, it's okay. Emma gets upset.
What sport? -
I think two people who are in love should have the right.
