Ravager, I'm not here to argue with you. I'm not trying to "own you ben shapiro style 🤓"
I was trying to help you understand a REAL issue that effects REAL people in a very significant way. If you ever want to actually try to understand, instead of "well actually"-ing everything I say, please let me know -
We understand but you aren't listening....
-
No, as I said I'm not here to debate. I'm simply trying to explain ans help you guys understand
-
I understand what you are saying and I am simply refuting it.
-
Congrats, refute all you want. That's not what I'm here for though
-
Did you miss the part where I said this was an argument thread?
-
Nope, I was just hoping you could quit being so angry and argumentative for long enough to try to actually learn and empathize with another point of view
-
I made this thread for this argument, and part of that was trying to understand why the f--- ACAB is even a thing. So, what's your point, exactly?
Sidenote:
Not sure what you're trying to say here but it sounds like you're saying it's the victims' faults for being brutally murdered by cops.
No??? What the f---??? That sentence was leading into my statement about the existence of good cops, how do you even come to that conclusion? -
Do you want us to argue with your assertion that "not all cops are bad?"
We aren't going to do that. We're saying "yes, some cops are good, BUT bad cops need to be held accountable." We're looking at actual statistics of cop violence and asking ourselves what can be done to stop people from dying or being imprisoned unnecessarily.
Even if the vast majority of cops were perfectly moral people we would still be trying to correct and bring attention to the minority of immoral cops because that's how you get better as a society.
You don't just say "only a couple of people are being wrongfully imprisoned a year?? That sounds good enough for me."
Bad things fester in the dark. Things like acab are trying to shine a light on it so it can't continue to grow. I'm not going to say the movement has never made a bad call because honestly idk, but at least they're trying to stop this country from becoming even more corrupt than it already is.
Most of the cops I've met are extremely kind people who are very fair, and I genuinely think that's because the area I live in values integrity and they are transparent with the community and hold their officers accountable always. -
TLDR; I agree with you rav, not all cops are bad. We just want to correct the corruption that exists and create fail-safes to make it so cops can't take advantage of their position of power.
-
Actually the system has many purposefully implemented flaws designed to push agendas and benefit politics or the police force themselves. Everybody agrees that not *ALL* cops are bad. I have an uncle who is one of the best men I've ever met and he was in the police force all throughout the years- he's a great guy and a great cop. He was like a role model to me growing up and I love him wholeheartedly. But you clearly don't understand the way the justice system is structured if you think ACAB is just about every single police officer just being a bad guy. It's not about that at all and everybody agrees there are good cops lol
-
Ok so, the thing about ACAB, this is the first time i've ever heard it described as anything other than people who hate the police.
Everything I've ever seen or read involving ACAB boiled down to people who couldn't handle the mere existance of Authority figures.
Why?
Well, my guess is the name.
When you read, "All Cops Are b------s", it's nigh impossible to interpret it as anything other than "Police bad, they don't deserve to live."
Why?
Idfk i'm not a psychologist why u askin me -
What are you on? No one is saying police don't deserve to live or that people hate authority figures. Dude. You can't tell us you've NEVER heard anyone describe it as anything else - if so you're in an echo chamber.
ALL COPS ARE BAD because the SYSTEM is bad. It's that simple. Cops are either the ones doing awful s--- or they're ignoring the awful s---. Plus they don't get nearly enough training for the intensity of their job. And that isn't any specific individuals fault. That's the system. I'd argue than police need to know the law better than lawyers, and yet it takes years to become a lawyer and months for become a cop.
My sister was a cop. My cousin is the sheriff of my county. My dad works in a prison. I dont give af. Acab. -
I don't agree with the term "all cops are bad" because there are a lot of them who are doing their best to protect us and keep us safe. However we need to hold the individuals accountable for their actions. There are a lot of really good cops and there are also, unfortunately, quite a few bad ones who abuse their position of power.
-
The issue is that the system itself doesn't hold those people accountable. They are allowed to and even encouraged to abuse their power. Cops are more likely to protest their buddies getting in trouble than they are to report them for doing bad s---.
