I haven't researched enough to see everything in accordance to this policy, but I'm curious as to what you guys think about this.

i haven't looked into it at all but i think there shouldn't be any punishment for using the drugs. unless you drive or commit crimes when using them. i do think there should be punishments for selling hard drugs tho

the way we throw people in jail for using drugs is just terrible. is it illegal? well yeah. but unlike other illegal things like tax fraud or something, drugs are addictive. throwing people in jail for using these drugs but not helping to get them sober is just going to make things worse. the government just makes money off of throwing vulnerable people in jail.
was legalizing all hard drugs the way to go? ehh personally i don't think so. they certainly should be regulated and i don't think people should be taking it recreational, but if it actually ends up helping people in the end, who knows haha. people would be more likely to get help if it's decriminalized, so maybe this will help more people in the end than we know. -
I have to agree with funniebunnie
Full enforcement of drug prohibition doesn't actually help in the long run and simple screening and caution against troublemakers is the better way to go about this situation. The desire for substances increases as debarment gets stronger in this case too strong. Like I said, screening for psychological issues would be more helpful. This is similar to gun ownership. Some places do that sort of thing already if Im not mistaken. Not as efficiently as they should be done though. I've also been thinking, maybe more education on drugs since apparently millions of people haven't gotten the memo that drugs are bad MMkay (seriously though, when done to excess they impose terrible physical and mental wounds hard to heal- especially in those already prone). Better sense of community might help
Also minimum wage is not minimum wage at the current moment so if we could also tackle that problem we just might come a bit closer to a solution. Suffering begets suffering. And you can probably guess why the system gets off gazing upon its own inhabitants grinding away at soulless tasks and using ways to cope just enough to cope but not thrive.
That's the way of our world but we need to change it to where peoples innermost needs are met instead of counterfeited
