Nowhere in the forum rules do we cover catfishing, but should it really be allowed if we can find out who the person really is?
Pretending to be someone else just to get attention from people who generally don't interact with you is (I believe) a form of harassment. Most likely the people you are targeting have already told you that they do not wish to interact with you. Or maybe they just need a break from you blowing up their threads.
This should be understood and you should give the forum users their space, not make another account and pretend to be someone else, yet somehow know everybody like you've been here forever!
What are your thoughts on this? Is this a form of harassment and should it thus be against forum rules? -

Moving this to The Wine Cellar since it fits there ❤Moderator

(Okay. I wasn't sure where this would fit.)

Catfishing itself isn't necessarily harassment. Harassment by definition is:
aggressive pressure or intimidation.
However, if you're pretending to be someone else just to harass another user, that definitely falls under harassment.. Moderators would probably just delete the account at that point, regardless of who is behind it.
I think this would be more of a, "Is it morally right to catfish?" type of debate, rather than, "does this count as harassment?" -
