Thread Topic: is suicide justified
-
please answer with your own opinion.
think about the world, the entire climate, and the possible motivations on why someone would take their own lives, whether that be medical, philosophical, whatever the f--- you want -
-
It's their choice
But itd be mean and selfish if they leave behind people who did care for them. Trying to escape from reality without consideration of what harm it might cause to other is pretty pussiful. -
Good point, but isn't it particularly cruel to insinuate that victims of suicidal action owe other people their own lives?
Then who would really be the selfish one? -
Yeah I guess
That's mean but that doesnt change the fact that they chose to escape from something + hurt others. However, if suicide seems to be the only option (the only option from someone else's perspective and not from the one's who is thinking of committing it), then suicide is justified.
dont use tough english plis ;-; -
I'm going to move this to the Wine Cellar because I fear that this topic may be triggering for many of the users that frequent the Lounge.Moderator

Imo, it seems like it really and truly depends on the circumstances. Kind of like how murder can be justified? Like, if you kill someone who is "bad" (rapist, abuser, etc.), most of the time people would argue it's justified. So I'd imagine that if the circumstances are that bad, it'd qualify.
Makes me think of the states that allow assisted suicide for people who are in a poor condition and will likely die sooner rather than later & are suffering. -
Yeah, but I mean regardless of euthanasia.

I definitely still feel like it can be justified, whether or not I want it to happen. Like, obviously, I'd advise against it & really do believe everyone should give life a chance. But that doesn't mean there aren't valid reasons for feeling like it's the only way out. if that makes sense?
