I don't really have an opinion on this subject I just want to see what you guys think
I don't know if my logic makes sense though
"No because if you put a murderer up on death sentence, if it's illegal to kill, why is the government allowed to kill? Sounds like hypocrisy to me." -
..Hmm, that logic does make some sense.
But my opinion is yes. If someone has ruined lives by murdering/raping (all that other crap), then I say Yes. Sorry to bring this in too, but if you can abort your own child, I think the death sentence for actual criminals should be allowed to.
But that's just me, and I haven't fully looked into it yet. If I ever do have an opinion change or find some more info, I'll check back with you :p -
I still stand with tongue on the abortion thing though
any fetus before the third trimester is not technically an actual living organism since it can't live out of the womb without its mother. So abortion before then isn't exactly murder to me, AFTER the third trimester, yes I consider it murder :/ -
I believe in both of them. Go ahead and call me barbaric if you want, but 1*I mostly agree with TBK and 2*we all die eventually anyway.

tongue ExperiencedAs I said on a similar thread in Psychology and Personality, I think the death penalty is a savage hypocrisy. How can you deter people from killing others when we kill those same murderers? And yea, these criminals have destroyed lives, but putting them to death doesn't change the past. And maybe some good comes from a murderer staying alive in prison. Maybe he does think about the lives he's destroyed and reforms himself in prison. If not, isn't it a harsher punishment for a murderer to spend their life in prison?
-
to add to tongue's statement
What if it was a serial killer and during their stay in prison they reform and decide to tell the police of the victims that were never found? That information would have NEVER arise if he was put to death. -
tongue ExperiencedThat's another good point.
-
Okie, you guys are making some pretty good points....
But I've also been considering the fact that some criminals escape sometimes. It's hard, yes, but it still happens. -
tongue ExperiencedOkay, well by that logic all criminals should be executed so they don't escape.
-
...No, that's not what I meant :/
-
Because the government make it seem like they deserved it. SO the people agree with the gov and not the person. I'm always with the murderer.
-
I personaly believe that the death sentence shoudnt be allowed since we have no right over who lives and dies..... If a really, really bad serial killer, who killed like alot of people, is caught then isnt a life time in prison enough??? Yes, they may escape, but usually its best to increase security and stuff, besides, who ever gives the death sentence is no different than the murderer himself, so i strongly believe that the death sentence shoudnt be allowed, but thats just my thought.....

Exactly what I thought :\
