You only have the freedom to speak as you please until you infringe on another right. So yes, you can speak you mind on an idea but you can't just go and insult somebody. For example, you cant go up to a cop and say: "f--- you, you goddamn doughnut eating lardass!" Then say: "Hey, Freedom of Speech, b----!" When the cop writes yo ass a ticket.

Personally I think you should be able to say what xVaMpIrEx said since the cops are techicially part of the government. Public schools shouldn't be allowed to either since they're government. Parents on the other hand can regulate you.

tongue ExperiencedI'm pretty sure a cop can't arrest you if you call him a pig. If he did he'd probably be in serious trouble. Not beating a black guy on the side of the road trouble, but trouble nonetheless.

And I do agree with Demonjoe to some point too, but even though it hurts me to say this, if teachers didn't have a say in what you're allowed to talk about... can you imagine what would go around?

If by go around you mean rumours about teachers than yes stuff would definitly go around. In my school there's a rumour that this substitute, who is also one of the administrator's wife, once a long time ago let the entire football team do a train on her.
