Zacrocks02 NewbieHey! What bout me!

Zacrocks02 NewbieRush wanted me to spread the word about the banned homework thing, so here it goes:
My Declaration of Independence
Students around the world have rights to not get or do homework. As for the colonists back then, we students wouldn't be here today to show up in school. If the citizens in the year 1776 declare their independence, then why shouldn't students? I am here to today to write to you that students should not be given to do assignments after school to do at home. Or - in other words - I am trying to ban homework.
I - for one - am a student who knows what a child, teen, or adult has to go through in life to get the education we need. Homework assignments should be banned! Other than the reason that us students need to do homework is because to receive a good grade or to learn what we've learned that day, but what other reason is there? Teachers are giving out too much homework assignments, which frustrates students who already know what we have learned that day, which is busy doing something else like going to a game. Students have rights! To make sure that students agree with me, they should be surveyed whether they want to do homework or do not want to do homework.
Issues that students face are important to the adult's point of view. Adults/teachers didn't let students vote whether they should or shouldn't do homework. You - adults/teachers - do not see what students go through. You only think that we students think about our social life. Yes, it is and is a good argument, but not ALL students’ just play around or talk with their friends. No. When students are at school, students receive tests, projects, and homework. Teachers don't give enough time for doing projects or homework. Teachers expect us to do our homework and turn them in the next day. Homework makes students frustrated, angry, depress miserable - there is no good mood for it (except for students who know what they're doing, but they feel the same way also because they are tired of going over the same lesson). Also teachers, you have to grade every student’s class work and homework. Don't you get tired of checking students work? You grade tests, labs (for science), drills (optional), projects, and etc. A student who goes to Annapolis Middle School has six classes a day and usually receives 1 - 5 homework assignments everyday. Here are some issues that affect some students who have other things to do other than homework:
• Does not have time to go into clubs/activities when he/she wants or needs to go, but cannot because of the loaded homework
• Does not have time for himself/herself because of homework assignments
• Have to do chores and homework, so no time for himself/herself (same issue as issue number 2)
• Have to go to an important event(s), but don't know what to do or choose
• Does understand class work, but doesn't understand the homework
Here are responses I hear everyday from students from both sides - doing bad at homework and doing good at homework:
"How am I going to do my homework if I have football practice? If I miss one practice, then I would get kicked out of the team, but I don't want that to happen! If I don't do my homework, then my teacher would kill me!â€
"I keep notes for classes, so why get homework?"
"I have chores to do! I can't do my homework and my chores at the same time! I have no time for myself anymore!"
"! I want to stay after school, but I'm worried that I won't have time to do my homework in time!
"I had almost missed my bus because I was up last night doing my homework. I'm so tired! Nothing would keep me awake! I feel like a punching bag being punched a million times! I feel your pain punching bag!"
"I'd try to do my homework during school hours, but since there are six classes, it's too frustrating!"
There are too many issues I hear from students. Why can't you - teachers/adults - understand! There are a million responses in the world and I always hear students complain about homework. Every student asks themselves "why do I get homework?" Why? Is it because we students have to learn from our mistakes? Is it because to tell whether the student understand the concept? Is it because to tell which student is paying attention? Or is it because of another reason?
To fix all of the nonsense, I shall ask as many students in grades 6 and upper classes (like college) if we should banned homework. To make it fair, I shall ask teachers and adults the same question. If I get enough amounts of “yes†then homework shall be banned! If I get enough amounts of “no†then I shall talk with teachers and adults who said “no†about trying to shorten the amount of given homework and try to plan out a schedule to let students get time for themselves, time with their family, time with their friends, and time to do homework. That way students, teachers, and adults would have more time with their family and friends than doing or grading homework assignments. If students get a lot of homework, then teachers get a lot of homework also because they have to grade tests, projects, and etc., which makes teachers frustrated also because they have to grade every students work, so if teachers don’t give out homework, everyone is happy! Okay, here is a little bit of math. If there are 6 classes a day and approximately 20 students in each class room, then that is a total of 120 students, so teachers have to grade 120 students tests, projects, homework, and etc. If I were a teacher I would go completely mad! There could be even more students! See? Teachers deserve a break from school. They plan out lessons for our education, so why not banned homework?
In conclusion, you – teacher/adult – shall decide and answer this one simple question: Shall we or shall we not banned homework? From reading my Declaration of Independence, you should have said “yesâ€, but if you have answered “no†then you should explain to me why we – as students – shall not banned homework. Citizens of Annapolis, Maryland shall answer the question and contact me by my e-mail, which is [no emails] or join me with the “banned homework†side. You don’t have to choose, but if you want to join in the argument – whether you want to banned homework or save homework – you could visit my website [no urls]

Anastasia NoviceWoohoo! Awesome Rachy! I am so with ya! I have a project I have to do for Biology, two different pages to do for Algebra, an essay I have to rewrite for English and also an outline for a story we read in class that I have to do tonight! Oh and also I have to do a book report by the end of this week! I swear high school is killing me! I'm making at least 3 B's and I usually make all A's! It's so overwhemling so I would like to one of the "Founding Students" to sign this Declaration of Independence! :D

rachcab21 NewbieHaha! Alright! BUT NO ONE STEALS IT! Because my teacher would try to look it up in the internet to see if I used someone's idea and if she sees this SHE'LL KILL ME!
