Should we allow assisted suicide in cases of terminal illness?
-
Yes. This is an issue that's raised in England every so often but the rules would have to be very carefully made if it was allowed.

One of my friends brought up that it'd be difficult on the person administring the drugs and that its wrong to make someone do that. But yet there's people willing to do anything really. There's executioners, abortionists, and plenty of other people willing to do a taboo job.

Problems can happen as a result of the legalisation of euthanasia. For example, in the Northern Territory (Australia) euthanasia was made legal for a time but was repealed by the Euthanasia Laws Act 1997 (Cth), namely due to the negative effects it had on a man who consented to his father been euthanised.

I dont see how a law against suicide could be justified to begin with
-
It's "assisted suicide" is why.
-
It doesnt matter
-
Fear of people breaking the law isnt substantial enough a reason to dictate our justice systems
-
Its different because its giving permission for doctors to inject them with the drugs so they die peacefully. Really this is one of those, it doesn't really affect you things. Its between them, their doctor, and family.

Well to begin with, everything has a cost. Its easy to take a position thats ignores realistic factors in orser to defend your ideals, but you have to look at the actual mechanics of the situation before you say it has no effect on others
just for instance: who's going to pay for the drugs, and corpse disposal, time in the hospital, cleaning after the deceased...is the hospital supposed to float thebill on charity? Are we going to add yet another expense to the long list of drains on our tax dollars? -
^I don't think that's what's stopping the law, the issue is about morals. (You had my gender right the first time btw)
-
The point is that ideals and morals that evolve independent of economic consideration are inherintly flawed.
