I agree with abortion. We have too many people and kids shouldn't grow up if their parents didn't want them. They'd have a sad life, in the beginning at least.

Well woman who get an unwanted pregnancy can also put the baby up for adoption instead of keeping it.

tongue NewbieThat's alot of babies that would be put up for adoption. Honestly, I think it would be great if abortion was much more rare than it is. The lack of sex ed in America is ridiculous.

In the UK it isn't, tongue. It's practically drilled into our skulls and yet we still have a lot of teenage mothers and unwanted pregnancy. At the end of the day, it's their common sense.
Ah, but DJ, adoption leads to emotional stress, too, and like tongue said that would be a lot of babies in the care homes. Plus, knowing your parents didn't want you could screw a lot of children up before their lives even started. -
tongue NewbieI'm sure teen pregnancy is still more rare in Britain than it is in the United States, especially since Britain doesn't have the kind of negative veiw towards abortion that many Americans do.

I hate how the religious right wants to ban Sex Ed or at least push their agenda in it. When I was in middle school like 4 years ago in my health books they hyped the living hell out of sexual diseases and made it seem like if you had sex before you're married you're automatically gonna get AIDS or something. Quite frankly it's pointless because scaring teenagers into abstinence won't do anything for them. They're probably gonna have sex whether the propagandists like it or not so what they should be doing is teaching kids about using birth control.

If you think teenage pregnancy is bad there then take a trip down here in the south. Girls there are getting pregnant left and right.

tongue NewbieYou have to wonder what the welfare rolls are in the South compared to rest of the country. My father lives in Tennessee near Knoxville and he seems to think that Tennessee is a bigger welfare than New York, his logic being that there are so many teen mothers and that they would inevitably be collecting some kind of welfare. I'm not sure how much truth there is to that- teen pregnancy is kind of a nationwide epidemic in America. Nevertheless, I think there's an interseting trend there. Perhaps it would be smart for our government to invest in real sex ed so that there aren't as many teen mothers collecting welfare. Spend money to save money, basically.
