There's several reasons why I can't put a good estimation I feel strongly in. Reasons?
Pros: Currently, the United States of America is the richest country in the world, having a GDP of 16T (16,000,000,000,000) dollars. Big money. Also, many, many huge retailers are based out from America, and still reside here. Such are; Blizzard, LEGO, Rock Star, Dream Works, Disney, list goes on and on. This is, of course, majorly boosting the U.S.A.'s profit. To add to this, their military consists of, in total, almost 2.5 million members (1.3 million being active), making it the second largest in the world (Preceded only by China). Not to mention it's likely most advanced weaponry to date, which makes it, arguably, the world's most powerful.
Buuuuutt...
Cons:ObamaISIS. I know, this isn't a big deal, but there's been threats ISIS is going to breach America's borders... Some-day... And also, rumors have circulated that Russia's having nukes pointed at us. Putin's dirty looks un-to Obama doesn't particularly help this. And also. There's reason to believe that America's going to go through another Great Depression. Dunno why, but I've heard that far too many times.
Me? Personally? In a few (3-7) millenniums. Look at Rome. -
Well since you bring up Rome, I would say that much like Rome there won't be a single catastrophe. It will be a slow decent caused by decades of decadence. And it has already begun. I'd say the final nail will strike the coffin within my lifetime.

I somewhat doubt america will collapse entirely. Of course as with all nations it will undergo change, power will change hands ect. But by and large, it is considered unprofitable in our day to engage in expansionism, and very profitable to maintain your market. America is a very big market and most people want to keep it that way.
I think the collapse of america is not something to worry about. More like the degradation of civil value.
By the way, what makes you compare rome to america? -
But when it does collapse k suspect it will be accompanied with the entire western world.
-
Oh, Rome to America? It's simply because Rome was a super-power back in the Roman days, and, I believe, is the longest-lasting country (Save for China and India), although I may be wrong. In it's days, I do trust that it was the most economically stable (in it's prime days), had one of the most able militaries, and was one of the more populous of countries.
By the way. Scratch my estimation. -
Well, was the longest-lasting country, considering it's collapsed now.

I just feel like ancient emperial rome and the U.S.A. arent even close to the same league. A great deal of modern nations have gone as far as us in terms of technological advances and economic dominance..basically, lots of nations have had their "golden age". But rome, rome faced off against every single military force that every other state was hard pressed to combat and systematicly wiped them out. Their organization was essentially a super empire, comprised of two seperate empires that collectively ruled damn near the whole civilized world.
Im not saying the system was better then ours, or chinas, but it was a totally different animal -
Now that you say, you're actually quite right. I just compared the two since both are looked un-to as a 'super-power' of sorts.
-
It'll collapse when I die. I am the only reason this country still exists.
-
Clearly it will collapse when I take over. I was born four years before 9/11, on the day. Exactly four years, that makes a perfect even number. It's clearly my destiny to cause America to implode upon itself and burn.
...I kid about the destiny part.
