Thread Topic: How about sexuality?
-
I believe that people should have the right to claim that they like this sexual preference without having to undergo a series of disrespect afterwords. I also think that if you do believe that you love a person that is the same gender as you, or somehow you aren't straight, that you should be accepted as a human being nonetheless, regardless of what you were taught to believe or if it's a family tradition not to be gay/bisexual or whatever your sexuality is.
What some people seem to think is that you can decide on your sexuality, like it's a choice. But it isn't, and because you have to experience misbehavior from someone else's behalf because it isn't what they think is supposed to be okay. There are hormones in your body that you can't control, and if you become aroused by a certain type of body, then society shouldn't look down upon that.
I have accepted that I may be bisexual, but because of the age I'm at, 12, I can't say for sure, but for now, I'm just going to stick with heterosexuality until I'm completely sure that I want to be bisexual, or another sexuality if something else heads my way as I travel towards adulthood.
But, here's another question: Do you think that not being straight is wrong, and that people who aren't will burn in Hell?
I think that different sexualities aren't wrong, but the people that aren't straight will burn in Hell due to the writing from the Bible and what Jesus believes. Although, do I think it's fair to them? Absolutely not - why should people have to cost an eternity of painful suffering for being brave enough to have a different opinion?
Am I right or am I wrong? -
You're right. I mean, I don't believe in hell, but other than that yeah I agree.
-
Also, the reason for burning in Hell for liking someone the same gender as you? It's ridiculous.
"If you sleep with someone of the same gender, you're sleeping with God's angels."
Okay, by that logic, if you're gay, you're sleeping with angels, but if not, you're not? No, no, I can't wrap my brain around that.
According to God, he loves everybody equally and think that everyone is perfect. We're all angels to him. And if so, everybody is sleeping with God's angels.
How does this make sense? It doesn't. -
You're correct. Everyone has the right to be who they are without being judged. After all, Jesus died for our sins.
-
Jesus did die for our sins, and if he did, then why are we going to Hell for committing them?
-
I don't know. I mean, I understand a major sin like murder, but being bisexual or homosexual? I believe that is a sin that should be forgiven.
-
Yes, especially if we can't help it.
-
Love is love, no matter what. I don't think any body can argue with that.
-
I'd flip out if someone walked in here like, "UGGGGH!!!!!!!1!!1 GAY IS RONG, STRAIGHT IS GOOD, BURN IN HEL LYOU GAYS!!!!!!1!"
-
Apple White Newbie"Homo sex is sin"
-
It is a sin and I don't think it should be one.
-
I think people are giving homosexuals and bisexuals so much crap is because it is considered a sin. If it wasn't mentioned in the Bible, I doubt people would make so much fuss about it.
-
Exactly. I don't even know why I'm a Christian. Maybe since my parents want me to be one so bad.
-
I agree with most points in the Bible, besides foul langauge and homosexuality.
-
I believe, however, at the time the Bible was made, foul langauge and homosexuality was highly frowned upon. Now, I believe, it may not be a sin, as society has changed over time.
