"You were born in America, so you're American"
Virginia Dare was also born in America. -
Dual national masterrace reporting in.
-
....
can u not -
The point here is would you consider Virginia Dare to be American? Would you have considered American a race when she was born?
Probably not, right? -
American isn't a race. It is a nationality.
-
America isn't a nation.
-
Wait you know what that's a totally different argument, for the sake of not getting into that, I'll call it a nation for now.
But my point here is would you consider Virginia Dares an American? -
....America kinda is a nation.
-
Blah, I don't want to get into that argument again, so for the sake of that I'll just call it a nation for now
My point is would you consider Virginia Dare American? -
I'm going to have to agree with the people above me, America does fit the definition of nation.
-
It depends on the laws of american citizenship at that time if they existed.
If there were no laws about citizenship I would class her as the nationality of her parents.
If the laws of citizenship (the get born here get a passport that today has) were in place she was american. -
... You're saying she's American because she was born in North America, right?
-
I do believe this argument is invalid. According to Bing, Virginia *Dare* was born far before the U.S.A. was even created. Hell, she was even born before the thirteen colonies, so, she can't be considered American.
And, no, being born in the Americas does not make you American. I don't think. Depends on how you define 'American'. -
...did I just agree with...
America is a nation... -
OKAY that is not the point I agreed to call America a nation
@Geek Ah. That's all I needed to know.
@Joker ..I could've been wrong but I thought Virginia Dare was the first European child born in North America?
