I just feel like laughing at something right now.
-
I know a couple of those. Thick in the skull.

I have heard the "what you refer to capitalism is really CORPORATISM" argument so many times that I just cease responding once libertarians get involved in a debate.
-
I asked one to define what capitalism really was, since they kept insisting that what I called capitalism wasn't capitalism. They never answered.

Tongue, I read the wikipedia page, but I want the inside scoop. What is liberarianism about?
-
Libertarianism as I've always perceived it is the ideal laid out by Thomas Jefferson: "The government that governs the least governs the best". So basically libertarianism involves as little government or regulation as possible. I dabble in libertarianism from time to time, I'm really more of an anti-authoritarian than anything. Some of the things government does are necessary and right, like providing basic needs for the poor or protecting the environment from polluters or regulating some functions of the economy so that the system is fair and works for everyone. Which is definitely NOT what libertarians believe.
