  Here's a great idea: pick Congress randomly from a phonebook. Everyone serves one term. I guarantee you it will work a lot better.

  The modern media would completely f--- any chance of that. Jefferson had about a dozen illegitimate slave children, and Franklin f---ed anything with a pulse.

  It is important to remember that all of this started over Obamacare. With the exception of banning insurance companies from denying coverage for those with pre-existing conditions, Obamacare is a costly and unnecessary power-grab for the federal government. In addition, our government is spending much more than it is taking in from taxes every year, and there doesn't seem to be much effort to stop the bleeding. It almost had to get to this point, we can't simply sweep our debt under the rug forever.
