Like many people in the United States, I am sick and tired of seeing people on welfare.
I just have a different solution to the problem.
"From each according to ability, to each according to need."
Let's make it so there is no NEED for welfare. Let's not say "get a job," let's provide a job. Let's make it so money is no longer a factor. Where no one dominates all of the things.
Money is only seen as important because it has value. Money is what you get when you work hard. Money is what you need to obtain food and other necessities, at least those provided by the society.
Why not just cut it out? Why not just cut out the unnecessary steps of giving the fruits of your labor to some damn business owner and receiving arbitrary money which then goes back to other business owners? Why not take it for yourselves and for the people?
And that is how we end the welfare problem. When everyone can produce in some way, when everyone can receive what they need, when the people own the means of production and not some high entity, that is when welfare will end.

Communism has problems of it's own.
I think the goal is not to change how we as a society do business but to perfect our chosen path.
Which is to say: how can we, as a capitalistic democracy gaurd our weaknesses and fix our short comings without degrading into communism or socialism.
