Thread Topic: They Canceled DARE where I am

DARE, the drug program to teach children about drugs and alcohol, was shut down where I am so now they no longer have it. Thanks to budget cuts.
This was a while ago, but around this time, the fifth graders should be learning about it. But AREN'T. >:( -
tongue NewbieSo I guess they don't care about kids f---ing up their lives do drugs.
-
That's wrong, they need to keep DARE.
And then after they have the knowledge and they still f--- up their life, it's not our problem. They would be the ones who made the decision. -
Do you guys realize there are statistics that show that kids had that dare stuff are more likely to do them?
-
tongue NewbieI wasn't really aware of those kinds of statistics.
-
Yup they're there. I know people that wear DARE t shirts that say keep kids off drugs as a joke. There are stickers that say DARE, then it says, to think for yourself as in don't listen to dare progam people cause it has a sort of reverse psychology to it or something.

@Ellis Ooh. I liked it because there are so many overdoses where I live. People are so freaking stupid here -_- If they did get high or got drunk, I hate saying this, but at least they'd know what would happen to them and the risks. They wouldn't have to be so clueless.
-
tongue ExperiencedIt's always worth trying to educate kids about drugs. DARE is the only good thing the War on Drugs pays for.

@Tongue Yeah.
