cultural deviation is insanity. insanity is also genius. genius is progress. it is therefore not only unethical and foolish to lock our criminals away in a nut house or prison, but also foolish to stop the crime before it happens. but were to draw the line? theoretically without order there is chaos. but where does are need for freedom and progress outway the need for protection- and vise versa-?
i am of the opinion that since crime is (put layman terms) not doing what everyone else is doing, and in that knowledge should we really hide away our most advanced minds? on the other hand if a criminal killed my brother i don't care how advanced their mind is their going down.
the summary question is: how do we protect ourselves and also alow for the most possible progress?
idk the thought crossed my mind a while ago, i've already it, but i wanted to share so... -
Kill all criminals of a certain degree and take the smartest of us all and force them to mate! lol.

tongue NewbieI vote for anarchy. No police to redress. All citizens would be wise to own a gun and seek justice on their own.
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man will say to his assailant: If I die, you are forgiven. If I live, I will kill you. Such is the rule of honor. -
People need to take care of themselve I agree but anarchy is retarded I hate seeing those punk ass kids with the symbol patched on there bag or whatever and they don't even realise they'd get their asses killed if everything was anarchy. Some form of government is needed in order for things to work look back at the egyptians and the native americans even had cheifs and stuff.
-
Anarchy is stupid, things could cause havoc that way.
But at the same time, some crimes have huge punishments that don't really fit the case. -
tongue ExperiencedNo, anarchy would work if everyone had guns.
-
No it wouldn't tongue because the bad people with guns would kill the good people and take theirs then they'd have more guns. How would people get food go to the store that is somehow not completely raid of all the supplies and still has food shipped to it regularly?
-
tongue ExperiencedEveryone would have to be violent. It's kill or be killed in anarchy. Thinking of it in terms of a constructed society is a complete misunderstanding. Think of it in terms of nature and animals: in order to survive, animals have to adapt, and often times have to kill each other.
-
Ya thats nature but we are humans you yourself are the one pointing out humans are better and if they were it would be because we have organized society. You do realize that tons of little kids and including people on here in a world like that would be more than likely be raped, killed, and/or eaten. Do you really think thats the way things should be?
-
I agree with Ellis. Anarchy is stupid, Especially in the new age world where there are lots of crimes going on, it would just make things a hell of a lot worse.
Thing is tongue, you say that's nature's way by killing, but animals in nature kill others for food, not for stupid reasons. -
everything is a give and take. in our society more freedom, means more anarchy. less freedom means more order. the place to draw the line is simply the place at which you can say you are free ENOUGH and safe ENOUGH.
100 percent anarchy is every bit as stupid as 100 percent control. both of them eliminate 100 percent of all progress -
tongue ExperiencedI know it's gonna sound like I'm flip-flopping, but I'm not really in favor of anarchy. It would work, but organized society is inherently better because as you've all pointed out, it doesn't require widespread violence.
@Ellis: I don't really think that humans are better than animals. I just have a greater concern for humanity than animals because society pertains to humans.
