Brother

With the same flesh and blood
We were playing in the mud
I splattered his face
And so began the race.

We ran and ran
It was hot outside
We gained a tan
As we reached the tide.

Fighting in the sand
At the nostalgic coast
We spun off land
And saw who could swim the most.

Sixty years later
I stood at that same spot
A brother, not a traitor,
I had loved him...a lot.
