Hailey NoviceOk - HELP. How should I dress in high school? Like, what's really cute & popular (I'm a girl)? I can't wear short shorts or shirts that are too low cut, & no spaghetti straps/halter tops. Maybe suggest outfits or something? I need help from some fashionistas!! I like cute/pretty/preppy.
Is it kind of a "given" to wear makeup in hs? Do only nerds not wear makeup?
Do older guys ever ask freshmen out? Do most freshmen have boyfriends? -
This isn't the place for 'prep' advice, sweetie. You've mistakenly came across Hell.
-
LetsParty Novicemakeup: wear as little as possible.
fashion: don't follow trends, set them.
guys: someday you'll find the guy who will ruin your lipdtick, not your mascara. so don't worry about it. -
Oh my gosh. You're so frantic about all of this. You need to chill.
-
Clothes: basic tshirt and jeansor shorts. Shorts don't go higher than mid thigh. If you have a v neck shirt wear a camp under it. Don't be afraid to mix colors
Makeup: really natural if any. Don't wear makeup if you don't have time or your don't like it. It's really not needed so don't obsess
Boyfriend's: you don't need ne so don't be a whore. If you find a guy you like then go ahead, but don't stress over them. Most older guys don't ask out freshmen unless the girl's a slut -

SilverBlueMoon NoviceWell, let's see...I just finished my freshman year, so I'll try to send you some advice.
Makeup: If you must wear it, use minimal amounts. Slathering your face ruins your youthful skin after a while, and some boys prefer the natural look. It says that you're confident in who you are.
Clothes: find something flattering to your apperance. Find clothing that makes you feel good, inside and out. Don't go for that new top that everybody is wearing if it feels wrong.
Mixing colors is good, but do it artistically. -
SilverBlueMoon NoviceOops, I posted it too soon.
Here's a basic guide to colors:
If you want to wear two vastly different colors, go for those on opposite ends of the color wheel (purple and yellow, red and green, blue and orange.)
Try corrdinating two or three things that are adjacent to each other on the wheel-blue, blue-green, and green, for instance. Or red, red-violet, and violet.
Sometimes, a little white or black is all you need to pull an outfit together.
Try to keep your clothing in the same temperature range-cool colors should mix with warm colors ocassionally.
Bright shades bring focus to the area of the body wearing them, while dark shades tend to slim the body. -
Where what's comfortable, and don't bother with make-up. Let your true colours shine through and make sure you focus on learning, as that is what school is all about.

Calm your tits, lady. I'm in my senior years of high school and I've never worried about any of this s---, and people love me.
It doesn't matter what you wear, as long as you like how you look in it and you feel comfortable. And I wouldn't worry about the age of guys. -
OH MY GOSH. I hate that! I don't think you should be stereotyping people as "nerds". They are people too and they wear makeup whenever they feel like it!
Moreover, you really should not care what people think of you so you shouldn't obsess. -
Dude...just one tip as a freshman in highschool.
Whatever you do..don't be annoying.Don't act like your the s---.Don't be screaming in the hallways.Don't stop in the crowded hallway to talk to your friends, hug them or whatever.DONT stand out to much.Focus on your work but don't be to much of a dork either.Be YOURSELF.Talk to people.Hang out with the right crowd.Agian be YOURSELF and don't show off.
I'm out of highschool.Lived through it.I know this s---.__.
It can be the best,or worst years of your life. -
SilverBlueMoon NoviceWell, if you're looking for clothing adice, I have a couple of outfit ideas from my own personal favorites. (though I don't own all of the products)
1. A high-waited skirt, form-fitting V-neck T-shirt, and a knitted cardigan sweater.
2. Red skinny-jeans, white v-neck, black sweater, and high boots.
3.Long or 3/4 sleeve plaid shirt with shorts. (not too short, mind you, remember the dress code!)
But above all, remember that your smile is your best accessory! If you show off your confidence, you could show up in a potato sack and nobody would care. -
SilverBlueMoon NoviceIf you absolutely feel you need specific clothing advice about what to wear, here is a basic guide:
Skirts: Keep them a reasonable length. If they're really short, pair them with leggings so as not to give the wrong image. High-waited skirts give the illusion of a narrow waist. A-lines are universally flattering. Straight skirts look best when they fall to the knee. Don't wear something that hinders your movement-you'll be running to get to class at some point, and ripping out the seams is not a good excuse for being tardy.
Shirts: It's mostly about the neckline. Round necklines (scoops, crew-necks...) tend to emphesise round faces and soften angular ones. V-necks give angular faces a sharper aspect, but the slim round faces. Choose a type of fabric that can stand up to hours of continious wear. If you feel that something might start to feel uncomfortable after a while, discard it.
Knit fabrics tend to be form-fitting and flattering, while the lighter cloth does not look good on everyone. (personally, I look like a toddlerplaying dress-up when I wear one of those)
Shoes: Just keep in mind that you have to wear them all day. Sneekers, tennis shoes, and similar footwear are the best for school, becuase they will not hinder your movement, and you don't have to keep an extra set for PE.
If you want a more glamourous look, try for ballet flats (make sure they fit!) or shoes with small heels.
Pants: It all depends on the look your going for. If you want long, lean legs, buy some skinny jeans. (make sure that they're not too tight, or you'll cut off the circulation in your legs.)
Wearing pants with large pockets and buttons in the back will give the illusion of a larger backside. Light-colored pants will make you seem taller, while dark pants minimize your height. (But that shouldn't matter-I'm five two and wear pants any shade that I want)
Sweaters: Knits are good. My personal favorites are raglans and cardigans. Ribbed and fitted knits will slim you.
DO NOT: mix patterns or overload on anything. Remember, less is more. Before you apply makeup, take one product out of the pile. Emphesise your lips or your eyes, but not both.
Make sure that you have more skin than bracelest showing on your arms. Same for necklaces. if you must wear earrings, keep them simple. You can't go wrong with a pair of studs or a simple dangle. Hoops work as well, as long as they're not too large.
Platic and feather ormanentations tend to look gaudy, so wear them sparingly.
Don't squeeze into clothing that is several sizes too small. You'll qttract the type of attention that you do not want, and you might just tear a seam partway through the day.
On the other hand, wearing clothing that is too large will make you look tiny and ratty. Only a few people can pull off the oversized look well.
But whaterver you do, DO NOT become so fixtated on the social aspects of life that you ignore schoolwork. You do not want to antagonize your teachers...trust me on this. If they don't like you, you'll be graded harshly, and your chances to get into collage will siffer. -
Just wear what you would when you were in 8th grade. I'm going to be a sophomore this year. If you live somewhere coldish, wear plain skinny jeans, whatever shirt you like best, and ballet flats or converse.
If you wear a lot of make-up, try to tone it down. Just stick to eyeliner and mascara.
As for boys, just be yourself.
